Hello All,

I need to purchase 4 snow tires. I'm thinking of purchasing a set of Gislaved Nordfrost 5's (185/65R15's). Who has the best price on them? Thanks in advance to all who respond.

I would highly recommend the Hankook Winter iPike W409 on a set of separate wheels, without studs installed.

They hold up well after several seasons of skiing in the northwest. I've been able to drive through snow deep enough that the front spoiler is pushing itself a path, and without studs they aren't overly noisy.

Try the General Altimax Artic - made in the same Continental factory in Germany it is the same tire as the Nordfrost 4 which I like better anyway. Considerably cheaper than the Gislaveds, which I have bought for years. Conti bought Gislaved a while back.

Thanks for the tip. I heard too, from where I don't recall, that Gislaved had been bought out by another company. It doesn't mention that on the company's website.

Prices vary from shop to shop, including installation and taxes. I would take this price and see what the local tires shops can do with that:
