How to turn off headlights in 2001 v70. My former v70/2000 had a way to shut it down while in daylight running.the manual says consult your Volvo dealer.Canada has use of day time lights mandatory but this car came from Massachusetts. Thanks in advance. Pete

The manual is correct, it is 'programmable' by a dealer only. The last year for the owner's abillity to turn it off was for 2000. You may not replace the headlight switch from a 1998-2000 car, that will not work.

I suggest carrying a spare set of tail light and headlight bulbs in the center console. Remember to not touch the glass of the headlight bulb with your fingers.
