pinging/knocking noise?? S70 1998

Does anyone else hear a "hollow ping-ing" noise or a knocking noise after you've been driving a while and then come to a complete stop? They are on the driver's side and come in sets of 3 knocks/pings. It's driving me *nuts* and my dealer thinks I'm batty. ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)

    The best thing to do would be to drive around for a while, and come to a complete stop outside of your dealers service dept. Nicely ask the service writer to come out an observe the behavior. Also explain to them how to re-create the problem. It's hard to diagnose problems if they have never seen them first, or dont have instructions to re-create reliably. Good luck.
