2001 V70 T5M - Cruise control won't turn on V70-XC70

Hello all,

I have a 2001 V70 T5m which has just started having a problem with it's Cruise control. The cruise has been a bit intermittent foot a while...i.e. It would cut out while on the highway but the cruise light always stayed on, leading me to suspect A loose connection somewhere. However now i can no longer get the cruise light to come on at all. I can't seen to find any info on this failure on the boards or in my Haynes manual. Anyone had a similar issue? What was the fix and/or what are the next debug steps? I plan on hooking up my scanner to see if there are any codes tonight.

Thanks,
Brian

Your car has two cutoff switches, clutch and brake pedal, and either one could be failing.
A hand held generic scanner will not interrogate the CC codes to see where the fault is.
It is also possible that the stalk switch or the DIM has failed, now that the CC light is no longer working.

If you have a PC scanner that checks all of the systems, fine. Otherwise, you may have to resort to a Volvo scan tool to pinpoint the actual problem.
