Sounds like one cyl not firing, but no codes or ck engine lts V70-XC70 2001

Strange with no codes to read or lights. Wondering if coil pack or plugs or?? I note Rancher Rick had a problem that was plugs and coil so could it be. Mostly at idle, hot or cold. Smooths out when AC cuts in or when engine revved up.

Input appreciated as always,

dick

Sounds pretty much what was happening with wife`s XC70 except the CEL was on.
The car is back to running great now....I drove it yesterday & it`s a "cruisin` machine" again

Thanks, now to determine which coil is messed up. Maybe the plug color will tell.

Rodger that. I was going to ask you to check the plug faces. The miss when the AC is on bothers me, that should make it worse when there is an actual misfire. You could have a dirty throttle body.

I had wondered about that as the butterfly is opened a bit more. I will do the plug/coil stuff first. Gotta keep this 73 year old body somewhat limber.

Thanks for the input,

dick
