AC blinking lights V70-XC70 1998

For the past 2 or 3 driving sessions whenever I use the climate control I experience the following:

the fan comes on momentarily then stops,

and then the Recirculation ON and AC OFF lights flash for a couple of seconds.

Has anyone experienced this? What was the problem and how much did it cost to fix? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

The blinking lights are a fault indication. The system will have to be diagnosed with a scan tool. Can't speculate on cost without code from scan tool. Could be any thing, from a loose conector to a fried control unit. A dealer or independent shop with scan tool will have to be consulted.
