Stumped...by an intermittent stalling issue S70 1998

Hi all,

1998 S70 T5

My car is occasionally dying unexpecedly a few times a week. This morning I was accelerating through about 30 mph when it died suddenly. After it dies I can wait about 1 minute, and re-start the car and it will run fine afterwards.

I have replaced the fuel pump relay (may have been about 75000 miles since I did that) and I just replaced the fuel pump.

The car has 226k miles on it. No check engine lights or codes.

Anyone have any guesses of what it could be?

Thanks,
yt

    Stumped...by an intermittent stalling issue S70 1998

I had a problem years ago on a mazda that was very similar. If I recall It turned out to be the magnetic pickup in the distributor. It only occurred when the engine was hot.

I had gone to two dealers and two mechanics no avail. Finally went to a electrical specialist in Tarrytown NY. Elben. They solved it in 5 minutes.

Go to an electrical specialist problem does not seem to be fuel related.

    Madness
