Exhaust manifold leaking at flex pipe area 850 1996

Here is the situation. The Flex pipe had a small leak about a month ago and I used a muffler repair tape on it. That held for a couple of weeks. Then I was told to do it again and make sure that the wire that came with the kit was used mostly in the area of the leak for which I did.

Now it is definitely done for now. I sound like a tank just starting the car, never mind driving it.

I was wondering if this part below was sold in the united states anywhere. See link below and let me know. Thanks.

This is all I really need!

Is there another temporary fix that I could do in the mean time?

Have you checked e-bay? You may be able to get the whole manifold and flex adapter?

      Hiya Fixit,

Maybe it's better do find a welder than to try to swap the exhaust manifold?

Does that mean yanking the engine?

I recently replaced the manifold on my '98 V70 -- not a real tough job. All the fasteners came right off and the manifold lifted out through top. Be sure to loosen the connection at the rear of the cat and allow it to drop so it clears the studs at the flwx joint.

The only 'cheap' flex pipes I could find are at JC Whitney. That would mean cut and weld.

As an aside, my wifes' Audi had both leak and a local muffler shop cut out the old flex and welded in new. Dealer wanted to replace both Cats.
