Strange behavior with lighting and dash 850 1995

I have a 1995 850 Turbo Wagon. Yesterday I lost directionals, headlights and all dash lighting except warning indicators. The ABS light was also stuck on. Brake lights, flashers, and backup still worked. Checked fuses and all were OK. I suspected a problem with the dash controller, if there is one, so I disconnected the battery to try to reset. This seems to have worked for now but I imagine that it will happen again.

Do folks know if there is a dash controller on these cars? Does this likely mean that I have to have the dash replaced?

Thanks.

Check the codes in A-7 for the instrument panel. But lights are not there, they are usually in the dimmer switch.

I suspect there is a poor ground somewhere to disable the lights.

      Klaus,

Thanks for the info. It seems that the problem is the ignition switch, which I never would have thought of. I confirmed this by wiggling the key and the problem goes away. These boards are such a great help.

It is actually the spring that is getting old. There is no replacement spring available. Thanks for the response, my brain is not functioning this morning.
