V1 Problem V70-XC70 99

In my V70, my V1 likes to go off (the laser warning) when you push on the horn. Any suggestions how to fix this problem? I called Valentine and they said some cars just do that. What about installing a capacitor in the power line? I think this would solve the problem. Any suggestions what type and size to buy?

    Re: V1 Problem V70-XC70 99

Hmm. I'll have to try that one some day. I keep my V1 in my Audi TT. I think I need it there more than I would in my V70R (cops just ignore Volvos right?). In the Audi, on a bright, sunny day, the V1 alerts me to laser warnings when I use the windshield washer switch. I figure the light gets refracted by the fluid on the windshield to include the frequency for laser. I only reacted the first couple times this happened.

As for the horn... how often do you use it? I'm of the opinion that a horn should be used very rarely. Being of this opinion, I doubt having a radar detector go off when I'm in enough of an emergency to need a horn probably won't matter to much to me. ($0.02)
