Another little odd one: 850 1995

Had to hit the breaks on the freeway and my steering wheel collapsed toward the dash. I keep the wheel pulled out to its furthest, and up to its highest, and my pressure on the steering wheel telescoped it to its closest-to-column position. The controller that keeps it from doing so was at its correct position, it just didn't hold the wheel in the position I had it.
I haven't had time to check whatever tightening that's possible on this, but if anyone's had experience with this, I'd be happy to hear from you! thanks.

It happens, rarely. The tightening bolt gets loose, and it is a bear to fix.

Wrong answer! You're supposed to say "not to worry, it's this very accessible nut on the underside of the steering column; just tighten it, and you're done..."

It's when that little nut gets stripped...

It may not be too bad. When I bought my 95 the column adjustment was loose. The previous owner had his mechanic fix it. It was done quickly while I waited.

Next time I have it in--not too soon, I hope--I'll have them take a look.
