Turning off 'Service' Dash Light S70 2000

Do you know how to turn off that annoying dashboard 'Service' light? If so, please send me DETAILED instructions on how to do this (aside from bringing the vehicle back to the service department).

    Steve,

    1) Hold the trip reset button

    2) Turn key to position II

    3) Wait for the service light to flash(about 8 sec)

    4) Turn off Key

    5) Release trip reset button

The next time you start the car the service light should be out and stay out until the next service interval.

Re: Turning off 'Service' Dash Light 850 1997

Ok, if this is the instruction for the S70, then would it also be the same for an 97' 850? if not, how do I do it then?

Just did this on my '97 this weekend.

Go to Bay 13 for instructions on replacing the instrument lights. Remove the bulb from the service light. Voila.

You might wait until one of your instrument lights burns out, otherwise it's a lot of trouble for a not very big problem. Alternatively, replace the other bulbs while you are in there. Other posters put tape in front of the light, etc.

The service lights seems to have the only bulb in the dash that _won't_ burn out.

'96-98 850/70 requires a service reset tool that plugs into the ODBII slot.
