Sway bar links - a few brand questions etc. 850 1995

Okay, my car has just developed a rattling going over some, but not all, bumps. Driver's side. Don't feel it through the steering wheel/whole car as I did when the passenger side tie rod end went last year. I checked out the sway bar end links and tie rods today. Tie rods seem tight and the only sway bar ball joint that looks bad and moves is the driver's upper one.

More background info - There is also a low speed creak on the driver's side. Struts, spring seats, bump stops all done in January. Seems to be emanating from the strut area. Lower steering u-joint recently lubed too.

Guess my real question is regarding brands since the sway bar link at a minimum will need to be done . The HD IPD links have been recommended on this board. They are on sale for $53. Gulp! FCP Groton has Meyle for $20 and Lemforder for $26. Any thoughts about these brands or any other suggestions?

BTW - Later I will jack the car up and check out the ball joint/control arm and take a thorough look at the driver's tie rod as well...

Thanks for any help!

JW

If you grab an endlink and can move it, replace it.

Which to get depends more on your driving habits and road conditions. The IPD HD links are supposed to last 5 years, minimum. The FCP will last 2-3 years depending on conditions, road salt doesn't help either. What I am saying is, you get what you pay for.

Yes, I have a decision to make. Not sure I'll have the car in 5 years...

They are so easy to replace that going with cheap is not a bad idea. I recently got the Meyle or some such spelling from FCP. These appear to be HD and priced nicely.
