Air Conditioning S80 2001

Hello All!
As it is now getting warmer I have begun to use my A/C and have found that the driver side air is a bit cooler than the passenger side.
I have the knobs turned to the coldest setting and even got it recharged and it still blows a little warmer air on the passenger side...
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Your car should have ECC, so stop trying to 'beat the system'. Put it in 'auto' mode, set the temperature to your desired temp, like 72-76F on both knobs, year-round leave the AC switched on and the recirc off, leave the blower speed in auto, and let it do its thing.

During hot weather, the blower will try to cool the cabin just after engine start. And in cold temps, the blower will start as soon as there is heat in the heater core.

I suspect that one of the vent flaps is not closing completely, due to lack of use. If the vent motor is malfunctioning, the yellow blinking lights will notify you that there is something wrong with the system.

If there is indeed an issue with the temperature dial on the passenger side, the only known fix is to replace the ECC unit.

If the temp difference is substantial, take it to the dealer for a software upgrade. If minor, do as Klaus recomends.

If the difference L/R is not too much, I should leave it as is (likely the thermostat) until it gets worse.

BTW: I would recommend to keep the aircondition switched on the whole year to keep the A/C system in good condition.
