ECC V70-XC70 1999

Good evening all, returning home from out of town, turned on a/c, no green lights on ECC, it was working fine the day before. When I put the knobs on defrost, I got cold air. I tried numerous times to turn on the a/c with the buttons to no avail. Any suggestions are deeply appreciated.

I never had that problem, probably because my AC was always switched on year round.

Check the ECC by turning the blower speed and vents to 'auto' and then turning the car on. See if it comes to life with the yellow blinking lights of death.

Barring that, I suspect that the AC switch died. It can be 'repaired' by removing the front panel of the unit and cleaning the switch. You might also look at the fuses.
