What wheels from other Volvo models will fit the 850? 850

Hi,

i have nice wheels on the 850, but I want to pick up a second set to mount snows on, 16", so i can just do a fast swap next fall. What other models can I scam some wheels off of to fit, with the correct offset?

thanks,

Thaddeus

I was able to fit 850 rims on my 145. At least the bolt circle is the same.
I'd assume you can go the other way too.
Hard to imagine an 850 with 4-1/2" x 15" rims! Be great for ice racing though.

I'm also wondering if wheels off of, say, a Taurus or Sable would work. the bolt pattern isn't that rare, but the offset (43mm?) seems like it might be.

Yes, I believe you are correct re. the 43mm offset.
Don't know about the Ford rims.
The Volvo steel rim that was from the factory for snows is 6" x 15" x 43mm.
        The factory snow tire was a 185-65 x 15.
Used Volvo rims are pretty cheap.
I just picked up a pair for 10 bucks each.

Go to Craigslist and look under 'auto parts'. There are a couple of sets for the 850.

    One for $400 :

    One for $200:

The 15 inch rims will be perfect, and the 195s are what you want for winter tires.
The first set of 5 include a steel spare, if you have a dumb donut style.

You can talk them down in price a little, if the rims look dinged or really dirty. Let them know that you don't want the old/worn rubber, age of a tire past 6 years is too old to rely on. The date of manufacture is on the tire.
