WHEEL BALANCE V70-XC70 1999

Good day all, a question. I noticed my front wheels have lead weights for balance and the rear doesn't. Is this a front wheel drive thing?

Every once in a while, the guy mounting a tire has the luck to do it correctly so no additional weights are needed. Tires used to come with a small dot on them which was supposed to be at the valve stem, making balancing a breeze.

So long as they are balanced with or without weights, you are good.

There are times when hitting a curb will knock a weight off and you will not notice it until you rotate the tires to the front.

Hello, It's not a FWD thing. Does the car drive without vibration? Your rear wheels may have weights out of sight on their inboard sides. The rear tires simply could have been in balance upon mounting. Is the car new to you? I ask this because I heard a customer in a tire shop say, "You don't need to balance the rear wheels." Do a front to rear rotation and see if anything changes. Kira
