Alternator died. How to replace? 850 1992

My alternator died, I bought another one, but how do I replace it? the steering pump is in the way, how do you release the driving-belt?

    I have not replaced one on a Volvo, but there should be a way to loosen the hex bolt just a smidge, say a half to a full turn. Then you can swing the alternator out of the way and pop off the belt(s), and put your new one one. As feer as the steering pump goes, I dunno what to tell you. Call IPD's tech support. They are pretty good at that stuff. Good Luck.
