Tire recommendations V70-XC70

What tires would you recommend for a 2003 v70. I am a sales rep and put about 3K miles a month on them so I want something that will last for a while.

    For a long lasting and good wet traction tire - Michelin Hydroedge. I think they only come in "T" ratings though. I bought Michelin MXV Primacy for my car because I wanted a little more performance in all-season tire.

    I am interested in the responses to your question as I need to re-shoe my wife's 2003 XC soon. Are you talking an "all season". I live in the Northeast so poor road condition performance is right up there with milage in selecting
    replacement tires.

      I went with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires, and I really like them. They are good in the snow, but not as good as snow tires. I used the size 205/50/16.

      There are trade-offs with tread wear. I like tires to wear out, so I can get a new set, plus they provide great traction. Tires with high treadwear last a long time, but they start to get hard and lose performance. I had a set that lasted me 4 years and still had good tread. The main key for tires to last, is to rotate them every 5,000 miles.

    What size wheel are you talking about? Supplying tire size also helps. Not all XC's are created equal.

    For tread life and quiet, Yokohama and Toyo come to mind. Goodyear also has a good tire.

    FWIW, my wife has a `03 XC70 & puts on slightly under the 3k a month as a commuter car. We put Hankooks on a year ago & they seem fine regarding "wear". They aren`t quite what I like as far as "handling" goes but then, it`s her car & I only drive it once in awhile. I`d have likely put Michelins on the Volvo.
