R&R spark plugs V8 XC90 2006

Has anyone done this? Had a look this pm, looks somewhat easy once strut tower brace is removed. Do the plastic looms that hold the vacuum (?) lines and coil wire harness on the inner bank have to be removed or can things be wiggled around enough to get the coils out. Any trouble to get into? What is the torque on the plugs?

Thanks for any help. Wish I could work on this one more.

Dan

Thanks Klaus for the tips and moral support. I'll give it a try next nice day.

The V8 and 6 speed auto is an excellent driveline, sorry to see it's no longer offered in XC90's.

The more you work on it, the better of we are. Not too many V8 owners out there.

There should be enough room to just move the wires and lines out of the way. A 6" extension usually helps. Put a light coating of anti-sieze on the plug threads.

Torque value? 15-18lbs, quite light. I usually ignore the torque and just tighten to snug.

The loom cover for the injector wires is that flimsy plastic junk and you should consider getting a nice, colored, vacuum line to hose the injector wires. Just slice it lengthwise, put a notch in the hose where the wires come out, and the wires will be nicely protected. Red or yellow silicone would make it look nice.
