got spark but wont start. How can i chk for fuel delivery? should I just pull off outlet hose on fuel filter to see if I am getting flow from pump? or how do i check on top of engine without disconnecting a hose?
thanks

You can use a cheap "moving rod" type tire gauge to check the pressure with the ignition on. Put a rag in the area because some fuel will leak out. These gauges are not very accurate but you can sort of calibrate it by measuring the tire pressure with a good gauge and then again with the cheap one. The tires and the fuel pressure should be about the same 42 psi or so.

NEVER pull off a fuel hose to see if the fuel pump is working, unless you want to throw a bucket of gasoline at someone. It comes out real fast!

Two things, check a spark plug to see if it is wet, and, there is a schrader valve on the driver's side of the fuel rail. Depressing it will spray fuel all over the fuse box, so cover it with a cloth.

If you turn the radio off and the cabin blower to 0, then turn the key to pos II, you should hear the pump for a couple of seconds. If not, check the fuel pump relay (#103) under the fuse tray. Pulling out the relay, you could jump ports 15 and 87 to give the fuel pump voltage if the key is in pos II.

thanks - I was wondering about how much pressure would be in the line.

Also thanks for relay check info - I was thinking it might be the culprit.

Expect around 40-42 psi. I think.

There is a schrader valve on the left side of the fuel rail.
Check the pressure there.
