Engine management light V70-XC70 2000

Over the past few months the engine management light has been showing and intermittently the car coughs and splutters then the message lights up drive slowly and the car cuts out and stops. New sensor has been fitted and intercooler. Thinking this had solved the problem, but 1 week later the car had an MOT and the next trip out the problem has recurred cutting out twice. The car is a diesel 2.5tdi and has done roughly 143,000. Has anybody got any suggestions?

Hard to believe, but there ar no Volvo diesels in the USA. I assumed you replaced the MAF sensor with the correct version. Why the intercooler was replaced puzzles me.

Are there no codes? A good scanner should produce some.

This is about the MAF:

Thanks for your reply, Only after registering that I realised it is a site for the US. I can't believe that there are no diesels in the US. We are swamped with them in the UK. We have only had the car 18 months and knew it needed work doing on it. We have had a diagnostics on it and it points to a faulty injector. So hopefully we can now sort out the problem, and get another 100,000 out of it.
