Special tool to check transmission fluid level? V70-XC70 2004

Curious if anyone has developed a special transmission dipstick for these newer transmissions with the hidden short sticks. I use a coat hanger bent with a hook to remove the stick combined with a long stick/screwdriver to remove the short dipstick. Seems as if a long test stick could be devised to check. Then use the usual when finished. Seems a flex plastic with a limiter on insertion could or should have been devised.

Ideas? Come on Klaus, you are full of knowledge. Perhaps modify a stick from an 850 or S70.

Once a year I put on my latex gloves and check the level. Don't need no special tool.

How do you do it without burning hands and arms? I can reach the dipstick, but I have had enough burns on my arms to be shy. Have resorted to Kevlar. Perhaps with your being very tall you have a longer reach.

Up here, the other end of I-35, we wear long sleeved shirts from October to June. Long fingers probably help. I just pop it out with a middle finger and shove it back in with same finger.

You could check the level with a cold engine, just one minute after engine start.

Thanks. Will do the one minute check and it should read in the cold range I guess. I do have Kevlar sleeves which I may also use. This 73 year old body just isn't what it used to be, but I still enjoy getting greasy.
