S60 front window slider replaced, now window needs adjustment

Replaced the blue slider in front passenger window on 2004 S60. Works except when window goes up it stops and then comes back down. I can close the window by sneaking up to the top but that's not a permanent fix.

Short history: I tried replacing the part with the window up, thinking it best not to operate the window. Could not quite get it as the ball on the metal arm would not quite reach. It was maybe within a quarter inch below the slider. Could not get that to go. So, I ran the window down maybe 6 inches and popped in the slider. All good except I gather it thinks it smashing something so it goes down. Just a guess but it seems like the safe thing to do if motor gets loaded.

CORRECTION: the ball was 1/4" ABOVE the slider when I tried to replace the part without moving the window, so it wants to push the window higher than it was.

Can I adjust the stop point?

Thanks,

ANSWER S60 front window slider replaced, now window needs adjustment

Find the fuse for the window in question. roll the window all the way up, then roll it down and remove the fuse mid travel. put the fuse back in,roll the window up and hold the switch in the up position for 5 sec

I found a site that suggested putting window down, holding switch down for 15 seconds, then doing same in up position. Supposed to reset the fully open and fully closed positions.

Alas, did not work for me. However, found that holding the button up will keep the window up. Not a great solution but it's ok.

Any other suggestions appreciated.
