Rear Bearing V70-XC70 2002

Starting to a hear a very slight whine coming from the rear. Going into a Right Hand Turn the whine seems to be worse then going straight. Going into a Left Corner, the whine seems to be non-existent. Does this point to the left or Drivers side rear bearing?

You can have a bad bearing without excessive play. It's the drivers side that's bad if it gets worse on a right turn.

I always get it wrong, but probably the left rear. Only way to find out is to lift the wheel and try to shake it. That doesn't take long to do both sides, with a floor jack.

How much movement is there to be bad?

Any movement is bad. Don't expect more than 1/16th of an inch, your wheel shouldn't be flopping around :>)

You cannot rotate the wheel with the others on the ground, and do not try to rotate it counter to normal travel because that will lock up the AWD until the other wheels turn. Makes me wish I had a lift!
