A quick check if anybody has tried and with what experience any of the more budget oriented struts / shocks like

Monroe (OE Spectrum)

This would be for my -95 850 Turbo Wagon (136K). My wife will mainly drive this so if it's a bit on the softer side, that's OK, otherwise I would go with more performance / stiffer.

Don't expect either of them to last more than 60K miles. They both are softer riding and your wife might like them. Some of the Brickboarders love the Monroe ride and price.

Thanks for input on ride and life span, to be expected I guess at the price points. I noticed the Sensen struts are inserts only, but they should screw right in to the OEM shells I would assume without problems.
I will have to ponder a bit...
