oxygen sensor harness 850

Working on my 1997 850 NA.
How important/necessary is it to get a new o2 wiring harness when ordering a new oxygen sensor.
Going to order a OEM (bosch) o2 sensor with OE style connector. Any reason I can't reuse the original harness.

thanks
Peter

If you can determine which wire goes to which connector pin, be my guest. There are 2 white wires, by the way.

Its a heated sensor so two of the wires are interchangeable perhaps the white ones.
I'm trying to decide on which Bosch front sensor option to take (4)
The price varies approx $115- $55
and I don't see the big deal of reusing the old harness.
If you can solder and find shrink wrap and black tape you're in business.

Klaus, your email is still busted on Brickboard.
Let me know your email address via w1axa at Yahoo
I have some file of O2 options for you to give the evil eye, too lengthy to post.
or try emailing me via brickboard with an email address.

was NOT asking about cutting and splicing wires from old harness but about having to use a new Volvo factory harness to plug-in the NEW Bosch OEM style sensor with a built-in connector.

one suppler mentions needing to use new/updated harness when using new o2 sensor.

          Hi Peter,

I'm shopping for a front sensor and it looks like some of the
so-called "OEM direct fit" O2 sensors are too short and require
an additional harness. Other options include the full length harness.

Apart from the harness configuration, Bosch has different sensor options
          too.

            Thanks Bill.
I ordered a new front oxygen sensor (bosch) from eEuroparts for $133.80. In there notes they mentioned needing to use new wiring harness (p/n 9202714) from Volvo.
The new o2 sensor had the exact same length wire harness as the original one and plugged right in, so no need to use the Volvo Extension harness. Will be sending new harness back now.

            roll on
            Peter
