Ambient temperature light (on instrument panel) 850 1997

Noticed that neither the ambient temperature light nor the clock/temperature light came on this morning which is likely the bulb. I replaced my odometer gear this past fall and THOUGHT I'd replaced all of the bulbs that I identified. Is there a special bulb I'll need or a secret housing where that bulb is located? Also I noticed that the needle for the RPM is half-way dim on the outer edge? Am I missing something? I'd like this to be the last time I have to pull the instrument panel. Thanks.

When lighting the instrument panel, do not set the dimmer switch to the max setting. Max =14V and will rapidly burn out the 12V bulbs.

The instrument cluster bulbs are the spade variety, 5? of them. Most autoparts stores have them.

The 2 bulbs for the computer/clock display are micro bulbs. These are in a white plastic holder which is locked in place by turning 180 degrees. The micro bulbs can be bought at RadioShack #7219, 2 in a pack for $1.50.

My advice is 2 cents, so you got what you paid for...

I use the old fashioned method. Bang the top of the dash with my hand! Works every time on my 95....:)

It's probably a loose connection or bad contact. In my view it's not worth removing the dash to fix an occasional problem.

As always when playing around in the dash, disconnect the battery b4 unplugging air bag electrical and make sure air bag plugs are back in place b4 reconnecting battery or the srs light will come on

Those bulbs are finacky. There are sep. bulbs for the clock/temp. B sure to plug the cluster in your garage (dark) and make sure everything is lit b4 you screw it all back together. All bulbs are the same.
