those things that look like to snails in front of the rad.........what are they?? S70 1998

Hi guys i just put a black mesh grille on my S70 and i dont like the way those to things that look like snails and i want to remove them....they are the 2 things right in front of the radiator can anyone pls tell me what they do and can they be removed or relocated?? tks guys from Rob

    Uncle has a sense of humour.... :-)

    If you want to move them, see volvospeed.com/bay13 for a pictorial on remounting elsewhere. Very easy - I did it in 10 minutes.

      I did a relocation of the horns as per Volvospeed by they ingested water! Alas! I had to shake the water out and mount them back to the original positions again.

      P.S. My brick has black mesh grill too :-)

        The key is to keep them at the right angle. Water ingestion in this low position is primarily from splash coming from tread of front tyres in a forward direction. Mine have been working fine despite record wet weather where we are.

    Only thing I can think of that resembles a snail is the horns. They mount between the grill and the A/C condenser. Simply unbolt them and find an out of sight location to remount, then extend the wires and hook em up.
