No Start Condition 850

I have a 93 n/a 5 speed 850 that will not start. I have verified that I have fuel and spark. I have replaced the Bosch plugs with Volvo, the wires with Bosch, the cam position sensor, and distributor cap. I tested the injectors with a NOID light and it does not flash, but I get a steady light instead. Is there a way to test the ECU? If I take it to the dealer could they test it for me? Would appreciate any help.

Amber

The car stopped running before you changed the plugs and wires? The plug wire location on the distributer cap, starting at 12:00 and going clockwise is: 3,5,4,2,1. The Haynes manual is wrong, if you followed it.

Are the plugs dry?

No, the dealer cannot check out the ECU/ECM for proper function when it is not in the car.

Are there any codes in the A2 or A6 slots? Do all of the warning lights come on when you move the key to position II? The CPS wires must not cross over the ignition wires, make sure the CPS wire is below the distributer and coil wire.

Klaus,

I get 1-1-1 on the A2 and A6 socket. All the lights turn on when the key is in position II. Checked the Cam Position Sensor Wire to make sure its not touching any plug wires. I followed the plugs from my 2000 S70. I assumed they are the same.

Your 2000 doesn't have a distributer, it has individual coils over each sparkplug.

Like BB said, did you check the injector relay? It is on the fan shroud, the opposite side of the fan relay, part #3545803. Also check fuse #1.

The 1998 might have the same injector relay. If so, it is an easy swap to check.

Car has 175,000 on it. It does crank. I tested for fuel by pulling out the fuel rail and having my husband crank the engine. Also, tested for spark by pulling a wire and attaching a plug to it.
