Whistlin' Dixie 850 1996

It whistles beginning at about 50 mph, and gets louder with speed. Yes that's what I said, and almost in tune. I live south of the Mason-Dixon line and The whistling appears to be comming from the front, near the wind shiled wipers. My wipers rest a little high in front of the hood, and cycling them (wipers) appears to make no difference. I also noticed that the drivers door seal at the very top corner of the door is loose from the door and does not lay/seal correctly, but the sound does not seem to come from there. Doesn't sound or give symtoms of a vacuum leak. Any sugestions?

Other than that, the tune-up and brake work last weekend went fine despite snapping a spark plug insulator and having to get a non-Volvo plug as a substitute. I now have a experiment going for those of you engaged in the debate over which plugs are best, Volvo (4 new installed) or Bosch Platinum 4+. Results latter.

    rollo

you should look at the upper windshield molding. the rubber will lift off the windshield and make noise you could try running a piece of tape over the molding then drive the car if the noise is gone then you got it

    good luck fred
