removing brake light bulb housing V70-XC70 2004

I'm trying to replace a burnt out stop light bulb. I have the trim plate off on the back, and I can get in to the black bulb housing, but it does not want to pop out of the pillar. There is a little red tab at the top that pulls out (I assume it's a lock tab), and I've pulled it out 1/2 inch or so, but the black base doesn't want to move. I don't want to pry too much and bust a retaining pin somewhere. What's the trick to these beasts ??

    According to your owner's manual:

Switch off all lights and turn the ignition switch to position 0.
Using a screwdriver, carefully pry off the speaker grille.
Pull out the red tab in the speaker.
Then press on the black pin above the extracted red tab and twist out the speaker.
Twist the bulb holder counterclockwise, and withdraw it.
    Fit a new bulb.
Fit the bulb holder in place and twist it clockwise.
Refit the speaker and press in the red tab.
Press the speaker grille back into position.

Thanks, Klaus. One more reason why I wish the dealer who took it on trade had left the owner's manual in the car.........:-(

Be real polite and they might send you a used copy for free? The normal charge is about $25 for a new manual.
