Electronic Key 850 97

My electronic key fob only locks the doors but doesn't unlock. Can it be reprogrammed- as opposed to purchasing a new unit?

    There is a problem with the remote. You can either take it apart and clean the contact area of the circuit board, (works sometimes) or replace the remote. The only programing is to program the remote to the car. You can also program the system to unlock all doors at same time but scan tool is required. Your problem is a malfunctioning remote.

      I, too, have a defective remote transmitter in that the Unlock button works only sometimes and only if it is pressed very hard. Do you know how to open the remote to gain access to the contacts?
