215-65-15 tires on 850 GLT wagon 850

I have the chance to get a great deal on some snows for my 96 850 wagon. They are 205-65-15 and I cannot find a definative answer if they will work or not. I know that the speedo will be off but since it works on some of the time (differnt issue)that is not a big concern to me.

I usually run 195-60-15v for winter and 205-60-15 for summer. These will either be put on the stock alloy's or my steels that I have for the current winters.

The only true concern that I have is possible suspension issue that may occur by running for winter only. Summers usually go back on in April.

Snow tires should be 195/60/15 or even 185/65/15, narrow is better for snow/slush/mud. Put the snow tires on steel rims and save the alloy for salt free use.

I would be surprised that the 205/65/15 would fit without rubbing on the fender lining or suspension when loaded - front wheels.

Don't know whether they will fit or not, others will chime in I'm sure. My only comment is that if you really need winter tires due to conditions where you live, the narrower tires will be better for snowy days. Mike
