2004 S60 2.4 snow tire/wheel size question S60

Hi,

This is our first winter with our 2004 S60. It came with 215/55/16's and I need to mount snows. I have some brand new Hanook 195/65/15's snows mounted on 15" winter rims. The rims are 5-4.25/4.5. I checked a tire calculator and the difference is only 1.3% in diameter. Anyone see any problems with this combination? Thanks in advance, Tim H.

XC70 snow tire question S60

Hi,
Hope Klaus can respond to this question. It seems that your answer to snows on the S60 might apply to my situation. We have an almost new set of Nokian Hakka`s that we pulled off the 850 just before selling. They are 215/60/15 mounted on the 850 15 inch rims. Can we run them on the XC70? It sure would save us a pile of money if we didn`t have to buy snows this winter(we need snows here in this climate.....had snow this am tho` it`s gone now).
Thanks,
Rich

You are the best judge. Pull a wheel from the XC and mount the 850 wheel. Make sure it clears the caliper. I doubt that it will rub on the fender. If it fits on the front, the rears will be OK.

If the rims are for FWD and they do NOT touch the brake caliper, you should be OK.
