Trunk fuel door switch s70 S70 1999

Does the drivers side door panel need to be removed to replace the fuel door/trunk release switch? Or can I just yank it out?

Thanks Klauss for your earlier reply to my fuel door issue.

As many times that I have had the panel off, I never looked. Perhaps a call to your local dealer parts dept would help.

Have you checked that the solenoid that locks the filler door is getting electricity? That part usually fails first.

      Thanks Klauss...

I just replaced the actuator/solenoid and to my surprise still have the doors lock when I activate the fuel door switch.

I will test the voltage at the solenoid (you are right, I should have done that first).

If not the switch,, what else could it be?
