I bought a new 1997 remote off ebay - one of the plain Jane two button models. Programmed it with the five ignition turns and hit both buttons within five seconds of the last turn. It locks all doors but it only unlocks the drivers door. Even hitting it twice will only unlock drivers door. Is this correct?

You need to push the unlock button twice in succession to unlock all doors nd trunk. Pushing once and waiting before pushing again will not unlock the other doors.
