Hello All,

I have a 1996 850 GLT wagon. The original dashboard due to age, has several major cracks. It is a plain black plastic surface dashboard. I have been offered for free, a dashboard and center console out of 1995 850 sedan which came equipped with the plastic wood trim that surrounds the instrument cluster. The dashboard and center console are in excellent condition. However, the plastic wood trim has warped and "lifted" off the dashboard in spots. I don't think it is possible or practical to try to "re-glue" the wood trim back into place. Pushing down on the raised portions of the plastic wood trim may cause it to crack or snap off.

The plastic wood trim is light colored. Does anyone know of any companies that sell replacement, after market wood trim kits that match and fit the dashboard on a 850? My thought process is to remove the donor dashboard and remove the old plastic wood trim and replace it with new trim.

Has anyone done this? Is this a practical fix. In my mind it would be crucial to remove all elements, including the underlying adhessive tape from the old plastic wood trim to provide a clean base upon which to apply the new trim.

Thanks. I did get one website (beneventous.com) that sold 850 wood trim pieces. The problem was, none of the colors matched the color of the center console (which is in perfect condition) that is coming from the donor car. Still I'll try your advice.

All of the kits include the center console, they do not sell parts of the dash.
