Also, it's plastic, so it shouldn't torque down all that much when you put it back in.

Sir, any idea what size wrench to loosen the block outlet pet-cock?
It looks from a photo I saw that it has six sides for a wrench or socket to
fit over.

13mm. I loosen it a bit with a deep-well socket and then used a regular wrench and a bit of PCV hose to complete the drain-job.

Laying under the car looking up, you want to untwist it by turning counterclockwise.

Just think that you are looking directly down to the base of the petcock. Counter clockwise is lefty.

No torque values, just snug with a wrench. A ratchet will probably cause overtightening, because there is less 'feel'.
