    Re: tires 850 95

    I made this exact change a year and a half ago. No rubbing or other problems other than speedometer error of 1.4%. The shorter sidewall and wider tread provide slight improvements in handling and degradation in ride is not noticeable. I went with Goodrich Touring T/A v-rated tires bought at a wholesale club for $325 or so mounted and balanced. Although I will never need the "v" speed rating, for $5 a tire, the improvement in the quality of the tire is apparent and is well worth the cost. Good luck.

    I would think you would want a 16 inch tire if going to 205/55.

    Are you planning on changingg wheels or using the 15 inch wheels

    you have the 195/60s on?

    Dan,

    You shouldn't have any problems as you are going from a narrow tire to a wider tire and your overall diameter is actually getting smaller. Here's how you read these numbers.

    195= width of tire

    60= % of 195 which states the sidewall height

    15= well, you know, diameter of wheel size the tire goes on

      Would not 60% of 205 be taller than 60% of 195?

        Yes, but he's going from 195/60/15 to a 205/55/15
