The turbo size tires I had with 16in rims were 205. 215 will touch at full lock and springs compressed. Going to 17in will do the same, because the aspect ratio changes to keep the desired circumference.

So keep the width to 215 or less.

    The rims might rub.

I see rub marks inside my stock '96 855R with its original Volans and the proper size tires. Perhaps you can get some R model inner fenders for your car.

Can you fit a wheel on your car and check the clearance, The store where you plan to buy the tires might let you measure them.

Wide tires can be a problem. My 855R eats right rear tires when I run my volans - the car had a new set of Prada spec2s on it when I bought the car. after two summers (perhaps 20k miles) the rr tire had cord showing even though I had two four-wheel alignments.

Its too bad, because those tires stick like glue - literally- I actually see stuff stuck to the tires when the car is parked.

Is your car a wagon? Don't forget to check the load rating of the tires - many high-performance tires have low load ratings - the spec2s are an exception.

My 15' snow tires wear very evenly.
