Coolant/radiator hose clamps S70 1998

Just checked out under the hood before attempting to change out all of my coolant hoses and noticed most of them have a funny shaped clamp that I have not seen before. They are "bow-tie" shaped at one side with no apparent tightening screw. Are these clamps from the dealer? (i.e. O.E. Volvo clamps)

I am not even sure how to remove them. Any help?

Thank you.

Get hose clamps at an autoparts store, not those screw things that chew up hoses at a hardware store. The inside of the clamp must be smooth, including the adjusting area.

Remember, do not gorilla the hose clamps at the radiator end. That is plastic!!! and it will crack under too much force. Snug enough so that the hose will not slide if you try to twist it.

Gates makes power grip clamps to hold constant tension cold or hot - thre are also spring loaded clamps that do the same

they're called "otiker" clamps. Either pry up the ennd and pop it off the tab or just cut em off with dykes. The tool required to close the new ones is available from grainger for about $45. I would use screw type clamps and call it good

They're likely from the factory, though many shops use them. They're much cheaper than screw clamps. However, they tend to be one use only, and you need tools to set them. Take them off you'll likely break them (which means you've got to replace them, I recommend screw clamps) but you can use needle nose or a screwdriver to undo that "bow-tie" so it'll loosen then rip it off.
