firewall heater core coupling 850

Hi All:

Finally got around to doing the heater core this weekend. Got the core out and in ok, but i cant figure out how to get the firewall coupling in. I broke the old one getting it out. Some sites say to take the gas peddle out, but I don't see how. Has anyone done this before?

    If my memory serves me correctly, the gas pedal pivot on a plastic pin, which can be easily pried-out (to the right, I believe).

      Thanks Ken.

      I see the plastic pin and it looks like it would pivot to the right.

      The plastic is super brittle though after almost 2 decades now. Lets hope gas peddle assemblies are not too expensive.
