OBD II reader/ best one? S70 1998

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced yet quality OBD II code reader that would be compatible with my 1998 S70?
The good 'ole days of just popping the hood on my old '95 850 and watching the blinking lights are apparently over.

    I bought this.
Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool
On Amazon for $40, now I see it for $22.
    Have used it on '98 Volvo S70, '98 Chrysler mini-van '99 Saturn SC2, '04 Saturn Ion, '06 Dodge Neon
Reads and clears codes just fine.

      240850,
What about a manual that came with it? Did it give good definition of what each code might mean?

Yes it does. I also use this site.

You can usually find the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) online.

        I have a ScanGauge II which works on the '95 854T, '01 S40 and '06 Mazda.
The literature that comes with the scan tool is ok, not as thorough as I would have liked, but decent. Product support from Linear Logic (maker of ScanGauge II) was excellent when I found that I couldn't clear certain codes from the S40.
