The check engine came on last week, but didn't stay on.

I checked for codes (A2) and I'm getting a 1-4-3; front knock sensor signal.

This is something I've never replaced on the car and was wondering if it's serious. What the hell is a knock sensor for?

It's running fine, so I guess I won't fret much.

Thanks, Dan.

Clear the code and use premium grade gasoline.

It can affect the timing and fuel economy. It's rather involved to replace because you need to remove the intake manifold.
