turbo gasket? V70-XC70

2000 XC70
is there a gasket between the turbo and the manifold? i had to do a head gasket job and do not remember seeing one..put it all together..runs fine..but keep getting a 3 way catalitic converter eficency check engine light code! which from what i gather could be explained from gases escaping at that flange!

Probably not, Volvo used to use a gasket in the early models but discontinued it. I would be more concerned you have a loose vacuum hose.

You could test for a leak using very soapy water. With the engine cold, use a brush and coat the flange with it, start the engine and check for bubbles. If you get bubbles, wait for the engine to cool and loosen the bolts and retighten them in sequence - making sure the mating surfaces are always flat to each other. In other words, do not tighten one with a torque wrench while the others are not even finger tight.
