Life expectancy of the turbo charger? S70

As a follow up question to my previous post about ATF and a used car with 125k miles on it, is there any way to tell if the turbo-charger is shot or is about to go bad? Obviously regular oil changes would be helpful in maintaining the turbo's life. I don't know what else to look for.

Most turbos will last well over 200K, but they will begin to leak oil at just over 100K. The oil leaks into the intake, which does not hurt anything. As the leak becomes worse, oil will be forced out of the weap hole at the bottom of the intercooler. This oil will migrate across the air guide and then drip down to the pavement when the car is parked.

The turbo seals can be replaced. It is just a pain to get the turbo out of the engine compartment. I have learned to live with the oil usage when the turbo is spooled to full boost, it doesn't leak much at normal rpms.
