I have a used V70, year 1998. Works well but I have

this problem with the front indicator lights.Took the car to the dealer for an audit, and the dealer noticed left indicator flashing fast.

the dealer replaced bulb and socket, it fixed the problem. However

2 weeks later right indicator started doing the same thing.

Can someone please tell me if you are experiencing

your front indicators lights(one or the other)

flashing fast.Is there a fix? Is there a recall.

ps I live in Canada.

There is already an official Volvo recall for this problem. I took mine to the dealer last week and they did fix the problem per the recall requirements.

Volvo is in the process of launching a recall for this problem. It affects 98-2000 S/V/C 70 models. I believe it covers USA and Canada. They are installing a redesigned bulb and socket. The new socket accepts a standard 1157 bulb. There are a lot of cars involved so it may take a while to notify all owners and fix all cars. Be patient.

Early production models of the 70 series cars had bad sockets which should have been replaced under warranty or recall. Lots of discussion here on this board regarding this problem. Had the same problem on my used v70 i got two weeks ago. REplaced the socket on the right side and it doesn't flash fast anymore.
