Anti-Skid Temp. Off XC90 2004

I received a new warning message today: "Anti-Skid Temporarily Off".

Any clues as to what throws that message?

2004 XC90

Thanks for your advice.

    Hi,
if you have awd also haldex might be causing the message. usually thrown as anti-skid-service-required with DTCs BCM0095 (communication problem with AOC/DEM) with possibly DEM0006 (supply pump (/haldex)). If so google the codes.

from what I'm reading, the ABS sensors or the pulse ring could be at fault. sensors are inexpensive as is the pulse ring, but I'm not sure how long it would take to get a mechanic to replace the ring. It's possible to do yourself if you have the right tools and experience. The yaw control module is the other possibility and this is about $1000...easy to replace though under the amp beneath the passenger seat. Good luck, I'm about to get my quote for same issue

    Your owner's manual :

If the yellow indicator light comes on and remains on, DSTC's Stability Control function has been switched off due to excessively high brake temperature. The text TRACTION CONTROL TEMPORARILY OFF will be displayed in the text window.

    Fault in the DSTC system
If the yellow indicator light remains on, there is a fault in the system. The text ANTI-SKID SERVICE REQUIRED will be displayed.

Stop the vehicle in a safe place and switch off the engine. Restart the engine.
If the indicator light goes off, no further action is necessary.
If the indicator light remains on, drive to an authorized Volvo retailer to have the system inspected.
