Drivers mirror vibrates C70 2004

My C70 driver's side outside mirror vibrates at high speeds (just the mirror not the housing, and only a fine vibration.) Can the outside mirror housing be opened and the mirror mechanism tightened? The passenger's side remains solid no matter the speed or terrain. The electric adjustment mechanism works correctly.
Thank you,
Steve

Probably an indication of a problem elsewhere in the suspension - like a wheel out of balance???

The mirror glass is pushed into a center holding thingy. To remove the mirror, adjust it towards the window as far as it will go. That should give you just enough room to get fingers behind the glass and push it out. Use your other hand to catch the mirror. It will be connected by 2 wires for the defroster. Check the holddown pins for loosness and lightly adjust if needed.

To put it back, make sure the wires are connected and push in the center.

Just to close the loop on this one. Once the mirror was turned in as far as possible the problem became obvious and easy to manage. The mirror glass itself had separated from the plastic backing such that only about 25% of the mirror glass was attached. A little adhesive and gentle pressure for several hours solved the problem. Sure glad the mirror glass didn't fall on the pavement at 70 mph! Don't you just love it when the fix is easy?
